I'm just wondering who here, besides Roe, made it to their scheduled 37 week c-section with absolutely no complications? No hospital bedrest, no close calls...anyone have a complication-free pregnancy and make it past 36 weeks?

Well, like most doctors, mine would absolutely not let me go to 37 weeks, my ob actually pushed it further than my peri wanted him to and I delivered 36 weeks and had no complications, never in the hospital, no PTL, no pre-e, no bedrest, no nothing.

I didn't, though I didn't have any complications - no pre-e, no bedrest. But my husband's cousin delivered at 37 weeks (and I think a day maybe) and other than a few trips to L&D to be safe, had no problems.

I had a choice of 36 weeks 2 days, 36 weeks 4 days or 37 weeks 1 day and we choose based on who was the best doctor that would be delivering so it ended up being 36+2. I wanted to hold out until 37 weeks and had no issues whatsoever so I probably could have, but knew that I needed to delivery b/w 36-37 weeks and it would be best to do so when the best doctor possible would be around to deliver.
I think anything past 36 weeks is awesome and 37 weeks is pushing it.

I think my doctors would have let me go 37 weeks but I asked to be scheduled at 36. My water broke 3 days before my scheduled c-section but I made it 36w 1d. No bedrest but a few trips to OB Triage to monitor contractions. My only complication was gestational diabetes.

I made it to my scheduled c-section at 36w 2d. I was never officially put on bedrest, but after like 28-30 weeks, I really wasn't doing much other than laying on the couch anyway. I had a couple of trips to L&D to monitor some contractions, but it was never PTL, just needed some extra IV fluids and then back home.

That would be me.
I made it to a scheduled c-section at 37 weeks with no complications. Not even a trip to the hospital prior. Just brethine, at home bedrest and an at home monitor.
My kids all came home with me and in 2 days will officially be 2nd graders. They are perfectly healthy in every way and are incredibly smart, I was told at least one may be gifted.
While I know I am not the norm, it is possible!

I never had a scheduled csection date but our goal the whole time was 36 weeks. I made it to that w/no bedrest/complications, etc. Never had a trip to the er. Nothing. Completely uneventful besides the complete missery of course. I only saw my peri once a month nd then the last month it was every 2 weeks. Once I got to 36 weeks, my peri asked it I wanted to try to go to 37 weeks but I told him I had no interest in continuing so we scheduled for 36w3d and I walked in to the hospital that morning and started having my first ever contractions while waiting for my csection. It got pushed back 5 hours and I was contracting the entire time so no way I would have made it to 37 weeks. Left the hospital after 2 days w/all the kids and the craziness followed. I was VERY LUCKY!

I would put myself in this category. My c-section was schedule for 36 weeks and 3 days but was pushed back to 35 weeks and 6 days. Baby B needed to have surgery right after she was born to close her spine so it all had to be coordinated with other surgeons.

I was never put on bedrest but I couldn't do much so I took it easy - no scrubbing floors or bathrooms here - I lounged around, watched tv and read books. No PTL. I had a few scares, mainly because my first daughter was stillborn at almost 41 weeks so I was a bit on edge for this pregnancy.

Baby B had her surgery and then needed another for a shunt. She spent 3 weeks in the NICU recovering - had no preemie issue. My other 2 munchkins spent 2 days in the special care nursery and then roomed with me and came home with me.

HI!

I was just logging in and was thinking "hmm, wonder if I should update?"
LOL

We got home yesterday! The c- section went well. I won't lie though I was scared out of my friggin mind, especially when after the spinal, I almost fell off the table and the anesthesiologists laughed. They had to give me some valium after that. I never would have thought I would have had a panic attack over something so stupid as almost falling off of a table.

The babies came, and they were (Thank God) healthy and beautiful. I'm sure all mothers feel that way. Even my cynical little heart didn't get in the way of me shedding a few tears when I heard them crying. I think I felt that in some way a part of me was holding my breath until I heard them crying. And then I was in recovery for the rest of the day. My skin was on fire, and it wasn't until much later that they informed me this was a side effect of the anesthesia (what the heck?). You learn something new every day.

Anyway, we were very lucky. The babies were in the NICU for the first few days. My husband and parents took video and pictures for me while I was stuck in recovery. As soon as I could the next day, I limped all the way down to the NICU to see them. And they were okay. Yesterday we were discharged with the two eldest (Triplet A is a girl, and B is a boy) And today baby c came home (girl!)

I'm extremely happy, and grateful, and ready to have another sleepless night. I want to thank you guys who were supportive and awesome, and I hope that I can be useful to someone in the future.

In any case, yayyy.

Roe, and babies. <3

They were.
The only thing that I wasn't prepared for was their losing some weight (grams) after their birth. The nurse did explain that it was normal, and they lost weight under the normal range, so it wasn't anything to really be concerned about. I mean, I'm ecstatic, and after seeing what other parents were dealing with in the NICU, it was all I could do not to fall on the ground and just give thanks over and over that mine were only there for observation.

Nothing really. But the policy was to put them in NICU to observe them. They were only there for two days, and even there they were eating like monsters, and in cribs.

And now they are home, and they are absolutely wonderful. Pooping, and cooing, and posing for pictures!!!

I had a C-section and I was down in the NICU within an hour to see my kids. They just rolled my cart down there. I didn't even have to get up. I had to go through a long underground tunnel that connected the two hospitals. I would have refused to wait until the next day to see my babies. Yes, I had a spinal and had to lay flat afterwards.

I admire that. My hospital said that they couldn't let me go anywhere, and I had to stay a minimum of two hours in recovery. I was there all day long. The babies were born in the morning, and by the time I got a room it was already 8 pm. I got there as soon as I could, but I would definitely have loved to have been able to see them as soon as you saw yours. But it doesn't matter now, they are all home, and we're all happy.

Congrats Roe! Glad you were able to get ready for the delivery.

What were their weights? Did they go straight to the step down NICU? Did you kangaroo? Are you breast feeding/pumping?

They did go straight to the straight down, and unfortunately, I didn't get to kangaroo. The whole first day of their birth, I remained loopy, and in recovery. I had this whole fantasy about how I was going to give them my breast milk right away, and I now I'm just pumping, and phasing out the formula. (This proves difficult when I wake up half asleep, and don't have the energy to warm the refrigerated breast milk.) We have the formula in the little bottles that comes ready to feed, so I do use those when I need something fast to feed them with.

But yea, there was one thing that I had to give up. I did get to hold them, and fed them a few times while they were in the NICU. But I'm sure it would have been amazing if I had kangarooed.

And at birth these were their weights

Annie- 5lbs 1 ounce
Eli- 5lbs
Athena- 4lbs 7 ounces

Of course they all lost weight, and were in the 4lb category by the time I went in the NICU. I wasn't prepared for that. I just had it as a given that they would keep the weights that they were born with. But thankfully, they gained weight, maintained their temps, and were able to come home. Today was their first dr's appointment, and they are gaining weight so I'm happy about that.

Don't warm it! If you can get away with feeding it to them cold, do that. There's no reason it has to be warmed, other than people do it, and they get used to it. It'll make things tons easier if they are willing to drink it cold, for those half-asleep moments.

Mine are 15 months and I still warm it for them, only because I hate cold drinks, so feel badly making them drink cold when I won't do it myself. It's a pain.

I have an aunt who told me that if I feed them cold milk, they are going to develop stomach problems. Chances are it's a wive's tale. I did originally try to leave the storage bottles out of the fridge, but then I got paranoid that I had left them out too long, and ended up throwing out some good milk. I figured if they were in the fridge I would have peace of mind that it was good when I went in with the feedings.

Lol.

I have alot of family here. That means, I get alot of help with stuff around the house. So yes, considering that I have three babies at home, I do have time during the day. I am recovering really well from my c-section. With the exception of my Shrek feet, I'm doing awesome. And nope, not sleeping through the night yet, but they do sleep through the day, and as long as I'm getting some sleep in, we're good.

What is the point of being snarky now, ladies. The original poster seemed to be genuine in her asking about Roe so what was the point of dragging in the past posts?

Was I offended by what she wrote, sure, but why let it ruin my day, week, month, etc. I am glad she was able to make it to her desired date. Wish I could have but my body gave out. I do have miracle babies though so I am happy for that.

YOu go girl for getting your nails done! Mine were painted too but they were done in the hospital. Not much else going on and my nails looked GORGEOUS for once! There are many moms on here who get their nails done even after their kids are born.

Yes, I am serious. If they were trying to draw her out then it worked. Roe did not answer this time in a manner that was hurtful. Maybe the person who should be attacked is the original poster. Obviously she has time on her hands to draw up some drama. Why did they want to "draw her out of her hole"?

It is the way of the boards to attack, praise, insult, help etc. I do my share too. That's life.

Susan, she is not getting away with what she said without understanding what her words did to other people. She needs to learn that if she has any redemption on this board. Without that lesson, there is no reason to believe that she won't spout her big fat trap off again and hurt the same people.

That is just it. Who cares if she does? Why let her have the satisfaction of hurting you? A lot of people say things that hurt but why let them ruin your day? If she hurts the same people, then it is those people who need to handle it not everyone else. What about all the people who throw insults at us about our kids?
"I would die if I have triplets!"
"My God, I would kill myself!"
"Did you do those fertility drugs?"
"I would have my wife remove her ovaries after that!"

It is the way of the world. People will say things that you don't like. Do you have to respond to it, no. Will you ever see those people again or meet Roe in person? I would venture that 90% of the time it won't happen.

I think she knows she hurt people. Enough responded and let her know. Willshe likely repeat this behavior, I am going to say yes but you can't stop her. Will people respond back, yes. Some will be helpful and some will be just as hurtful.

Again, that is life. You can choose to let it effect though. (and I mean "you" in the sense of everyone including me).

Excellent point. How can we find out if she is real? I have been thinking this for months, that she was a faker. Is there a way to check her out? I mean...come on. She was ruthless with her last mean post and seriously upset people. She comes back and doesn't even apologize, just goes right on with life. But, I am thinking we have to find out, because it would make sense. Who can do that? A moderator or somebody?

Let me ask you something Michelle,

Who held you and two other posters accountable when you joked that I would deliver pre term sick babies. You hypocrite.

I don't need your redemption. I addressed the people who were hurt, who I did not intend to hurt. That's it. I don't really care about the rest. You sound really jealous, and insecure. Not a good look, but I guess you know that already. Keep trying to cover up your ugly with that sarcasm, and "wit".

Susan, I think the problem I had with that woman's comments is that she is a triplet mom (supposedly). She should know better. I get comments of "I'd die if I had triplets" but they're not triplet moms who don't understand and who will never understand the joys and trials of being a HOM mom so whatever. But to have another triplet mom shove in my face that she "did something right" to make it to 36+ weeks while I must have done something wrong to have micro preemies is just insensitive, and rude. But I guess some people are just a--holes.

We will just agree to disagree on this matter. I have micro preemies (24 weekers) and what was said made no difference to me. If she did something right, wrong, or other it makes no difference to me. Hell, I have said to other MOMs that I would not wish a triplet pregnancy on anyone!!

MSTAR, glad to hear that you are the designated "pot stirrer" but I think we all figured that out LLLLOOOOONNNNNGGGGGGG ago

First of all,
I'm sorry that what I wrote offended you. But try to understand that when someone tells you that you are going to fail, and they predict that your children are going to end up sick, or die, well it kind of has the effect of pissing someone off. If I could write that post again, maybe I would have tried to have been more specific towards the individuals it was directed to.

And I really do hope that I can get my nails done sometime soon. Before the birth, I went and bought a manicure, and pedicure kit, just in case I won't be able to get away to get my nails done. This way, when I need it, I can just sit in my living room, and give myself some pampering. In a month or so, I doubt my family will be as ecstatic as they are now, to shoo me away while they try to hog my babies. lol
