#239743, "UAAHH a new day"

My oldest DS started his first day of new school today.. He was so excited. Guess he is better known in this town then I thought. We went outside to show him were to line up YA..... The first three girls in line were like HI NATE, are you coming to our school.. SO he has instant friends... I am so nervous and hope his first day is awesome. I think his teacher might be a little worried as the enviroment he is coming from to the current is so diffrent. I love the policy for behavior it is awesome. She gives each of them six sticks on Monday... throughout the week they have to keep their sticks and each one represents five minutes of PAT time. during this time they watch a movie, play games, go outside ect. If you lose your sticks each one lose stands for 5 minutes you can be part of PAT. Sounds harsh for time period but for our Nate he needs something to WORK FOR. They also go to music class EVERYDAY.. I think Nate will have a blast with this and PE too. At the private school he only had music and gym once a week.... Wow he even gets breakfast ast school, and they do not require him to play outside if it is cold he can come into the gym also... and also have installed a system were their teacher talks into a mic and it is broadcasted through suround sound so everyone can here her. It was fabulous, and this iS FREE.. no offence but I was in pure shock today. his teacher is young and brilliant and I think once her and nate form a bond it will be awesome. Nate was very scare of her today. Poor kid he thinks everyone is like MRS X...... The superintendent did call me today. He wanted me to be aware that he want to make our process of leaving the school as easy as possible. I had expressed fear that I did not want to go and get the kids stuff. I mean alot of diffrent teacher are in trouble for thier actions. I guess his suprise visit did NOT go well yesterday. When I talked to the finance lady she is awesome, she informed me of this and informed me that things were not good with the conversaiton with the school principle... .... UGH But guess this is not my problem.. He wanted me to give them a 2nd chance to show they would change things but I as a parent was not willing to do this. My kids are done... I do however, feel like I took him away from the beleifs of GOd not sure why I feel this way... But I know that I want him to learn to be a great christian and Christians are not to humiliate people... RIght??? I figure with a little bit of prayer god can help me through this period of guilt.. But that school was TERRIBLE.... anyway, I better go finals are over and I have a Apartment to clean. I still have one kid home with MONO... Ya nice what happens when you don't have a preschool teacher to wash your hands and wipe for you... I am sure she contracted it from school but you just never know...

>RIght??? Christians do not do the kinds of things that were in your post to any human being let alone a helpless child that they were entrusted with the care of. You did the right thing do not beat yourself up about it. He can still be a good christian without this school. He just need you to love and guide him and teach him that the things that happened at that school were wrong and they should never happen to anyone.

Amy,

I hope thing sgo well for all of you and that Nate adjusts quickly. I'll bet you see him bloom again quickly, kids have an amazing ability to rebound from things like this.

As for him being a good Christian, I honestly feel that what is taught in many "Christian" schools is very far from what Christ taught. Having a Christ centered home is the best teacher that you son can have.

NOt sure why this hit me so hard this morning about the church thing... Walking out of the school I saw that BIG cross on the church as his new school is on block away. My heart fell to my feet realizing that these people took this opportunity away from my children. It is just so sad... no more said. Rumor has it the Superintendent was at the college today.. i guess their are 7 teacher positions and a principle job open monday.... I hope all will be fix for the other kids my son came home in tears today he was so upset and misses his friends. My heart was broken as I hoped he would of had a wonderful day. However, tonight he seems ok and more excited to try again. It will take time but it does not take the hurt away we feel about everything. In time I hope the wounds heal and as he learns a more NORMAL way of consequenses we see more improvement with him. This year he has lack confidence, self esteem, and reason...and respect.. Fun goes to prove to get respect you must teach it and show it...
Thanks for your support

I hope tomorrow is a better day. Change is always difficult even if it is for the better. You are doing the best thing for your son. Good luck and let us know how he does.
