Hello everyone,
Well after a long night.... I am exhausted....
THe triplets and I came down with a nasty GI/Flu thing last week.. We were pretty sick but managed to get through it without going to the doctor. Well Lenny caught it my DH and it kicked him bad.... I struggled all day yesterday to get his fever down it was running at about 102.6. Nothing was working then the battle started. He had a massive bowel that was completly BLOOD... I rushed him to the ER.. His blood pressure in a matter of just minutes dropped very low, his platlet count was only 10. They rushed him to a higher facility hospital 3 hours away by ambulance. I had to pack the kids and the dog and find places for them... So at the moment everyone is everywhere. Except I have gabriel I figured that would be easier on him and everyone else... His SID is so much better when it is just US..... anyway at the moment Lenny is still sick... I am still waiting for the specialists they have called in an Oncologist for sure as his platlets are not doing the right stuff.. I guess this moring the count was up to 80,000 but they clump together and are not able to be read correctly by the machines in the lab... So I am waiting to hear what they say.... he is so sick NOT Talking, or anything I am very scared and worried... they had said last night they would ship him to the Mayo if things are not found here..... UGH why do things like this happened to our family..... at least I feel this way at the moment.....

Please FROG thank you so much...

Last Night Gabriel and I slept in our mini van as the hospital room does not accomidate us at ALL.... It was so late I hated to get a hotel room for only 3 hours... Depeding on what happens this morning I am going to get a room tonight.. I just hope I can get a discount as I don't have huge funds available.....

UGH I feel so alone and so scared....
This is the hospital the babies were born at and they remember us.... Gabe is quite the celebrate today...
HOw do I keep him busy in this place?

Amy,
Man you guys never seem to catch a break.I didn't even know he was back home.
I would ask at the front desk if they have a hotel they can suggest that gives give discounts for families at the hospital.Does he have a private room?If he does can you get a eggshell matress for Gabe and let him sleep there and you in a chair?Things to do for him.......ummmmmm,play cards w/ you,it will keep you both busy.Run to a library and get some books, matchbox cars are easy,crayons..wonder paints, modeling clay, puzzels, activity books(the ones w/ word searches, mazes, colorng pages, dot to dots)a dr.kit.
Keep us updated.

Check with the hospital staff, patient services, they can usually find a very reasonable room rate for you. Most major hosptials have connections, some even have rooms that you can rent attached to them. They may also be able to help with meals and necessities.

Good luck and I'll send up a prayer for you all.

What about the Ronald McDonold House? Do you have one available in your area? We stayed there when the babies were in the NICU. I know that they are very helpful! It would be something to look into and they have plenty of things there to occupy your little one.
Please let us know where you are staying (as your need your sleep) and let us know how your DH is doing. I am sorry you are going through this. Try and stay strong...and get some rest!

We finally found a place to sleep.... Well after finally falling asleep on the floor of the hospital and my husbands nurse being totally stupid and asking him IS SHE TIRED? HELLO I just drove until 5 am this morning and packed and moved my triplets into diffrent families....
SOrry to vent...

But I found a house called Tracey's house it just opened in December it is completly free with donations excepted it is awesome... I cute and quite place for gabe and I to have to ourselves... So far we are the only family in the house so it will be very very nice.
No word on Lenny, they are still trying to culture his stools to see what will grow...... He still has blood in them... as of this morning his platlets were about 80,000.... I just found out from his night nurse that DR abdu his cancer doctor was never notified.. UGH that is the whole reason they sent him here... UGH frustration, not sure I can handle anymore frustration.....

I will keep you posted
